Tätowiervorlagen (Tattoo Flash)
by Christian Warlich
Christian Warlich also known as "König der Tätowierer" ("The King of Tattooists") was a German tattooist who tattooed well before World War II. It is said that he was the mentor of Herbert Hoffman, another well-known German tattooist. "Tätowiervorlagen" (German for Flash) is a small-sized collection of Warlich's original designs, both color and line drawings, all in the sailor/old school tradition. There is some biographical information in the book (with photographs) but unfortunately it’s written in German. The Hardy Marks book “Flash From the Past” was modeled after this small volume.
This book is difficult to find and has been out of print for some time. This copy was found in Germany and is in new condition. 5 1⁄4 x 8 1⁄4. Soft cover, 99 pages.
